DURATRANS Step Transition

Application:
DURATRANS transition profiles from Dural are used to compensate for height differences between two flooring surfaces, such as between a tiled floor and a carpeted floor. DURATRANS provides a smooth, inclined junction between the two, which also protects the edges of the tiles from damage.

The shape and material of these profiles have been selected to withstand significant stress. Point loads are evenly distributed through the floor and its foundations. Thanks to their exceptional stability, these profiles are particularly suited for use in high-traffic areas such as public buildings and shopping centres. They can also be used outdoors, for example, in doorways or garage entrances.

DURATRANS Type L is designed specifically for use in environments such as hotels and public buildings. Profiles are available in heights from 11 to 20 mm, with this variant offering a larger surface area for the transition.

Material:
DURATRANS Type L profiles provide height compensation for differences of up to 20 mm and are available in the following finishes: natural aluminium and anodised silver aluminium.

Properties:
DURATRANS aluminium profiles can be used where no unusual chemical reactions are expected. To prevent corrosion, care must be taken during the application of cement and mortar.

Since aluminium is sensitive to alkaline materials, all mortar, tile adhesive, and grout must be removed immediately from visible surfaces. The profile must be thoroughly embedded in the contact layer to prevent air pockets, which could allow the collection of alkaline water solutions.
